With the hot summer temperatures and humidity, the Dae Cactus Fruit 3-in-1 Styling Cream and Taming Wand couldn't have come at a better time. Based in Arizona, the brains behind Dae hair must be pretty familiar with the heat and how it affects our hair. (The brand's name is even inspired by the sun.)

Formulated with dragon fruit for moisture and prickly pear seed oil for shine, the Dae Cactus Fruit 3-in-1 Styling Cream was already a best-selling and TikTok-viral product. Now, with the addition of the taming wand, its application should be even simpler and easier for those who are often on the go.

We decided to check out the hype and put it to the test ourselves to see if it's really worth our readers' hard-earned money and time. In the midst of the summer heat, we applied the Dae Cactus Fruit 3-in-1 Styling Cream and Taming Wand in the morning and checked throughout the day to see if it lasted. Below, we share our uninfluenced and unfiltered thoughts about this new product.

When I tell you my jaw dropped with this product.... I have super dry, wavy/curly hair, so flyaways are pretty much my default state. I've been wearing my hair back all summer because of New York City's heatwave, and the humidity has left my frizz as present as ever, but I may have just found my fix. First of all, the smell of the styling cream is incredible, so I also feel like I'm putting on hair perfume, which is a nice plus in the summer when things get sweaty (just being real here). One quick swipe of the cream at my hairline immediately tamed my flyaways and baby hairs, making my signature claw clip updo look immediately more polished. The best part? It held up during my long commute into the office, and throughout the entire work day, so I truly feel like it has lasting power. My only complaint – and I use that term VERY loosely – is that when I used the wand over the top of my head, the bristles pulled out the odd hair here and there from my updo, so I would recommend applying this before you put your hair in a bun or a ponytail. Regardless, I'm keeping this in my hair routine permanently.

The first thing I notice about any Dae product is the amazing smell, and this one is no exception. The scent was the perfect addition to my morning and lasted throughout the day, which is a nice bonus to an already great product. It's not perfect — I have frizzy and dry wavy hair, so there were a few flyaways that just couldn't be tamed — but overall, it did make a big difference to my look (and smell) with a very, very quick application. In the morning, I went over my hair with a few quick swipes of the wand. One pass is probably fine for most people, but because I had a lot of flyaways and some would get stuck in the bristles of the wand, I decided to go over my hair a couple of times. Even with multiple applications, the cream is lightweight, doesn't leave any unsightly residue, feels normal to the touch — no crunch (IYKYK) — and looks sleek. And this all lasted throughout the whole day (as seen in the photo on the right. Though it comes in a small package, I feel like just a little bit of cream actually makes a really big difference, so I wouldn't have to worry about running out very soon. At only $18, I feel like it has a similar feel to much pricier but great-quality hair products like Oribe's. All these things considered, I would totally recommend it.
