Glow Recipe just expanded into their first color products with the Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dewy Flush Tinted Serum Blush. The new launch is actually one of the brand’s most popular products, just with color now.
“We have been seeing our community use Dew Drops in innovative ways, primarily with creating their own hybrid products by mixing Dew Drops with makeup products like foundation, bronzers and blushes to create a more sheer, skin-like formulas and finishes. Last year in 2024, we introduced Hue Drops Sun Glow — a true skincare-first, multi-use sheer tinted serum that adds just the right amount of warmth to the skin. In November 2024, we released the second shade extension of Hue Drops with Rosy Glow, which provides skin an illuminating pink glow,” Sarah Lee, co-founder and co-CEO of Glow Recipe, told Teen Vogue.
“Now, in 2025, we’re so excited to introduce our latest skin-first innovation with the launch of Dewy Flush, which rounds out our new category we’re calling Glow Hues. We’re introducing two hues with the launch of Dewy Flush, Watermelon Flush and Berry Flush. These brightening cheek serums add a sheer, dewy flush of tint — but are also infused with ingredients such as 3% niacinamide and jojoba oil coated-pigments and are clinically tested to plump, brighten and even tone over time,” Christine Chang, fellow co-founder and co-CEO of Glow Recipe, added.
Expanding into color products seems to be a trend for fan-favorite skin care brands recently, creating a lot of buzz about the new products. Understandably, a lot of questions enter shoppers’ minds. Will the new line hold up to the brand’s and consumers’ standards? Will they actually be pigmented, or will it be too faint? And frankly, will this be worth your hard-earned dollars?
We set out to find out all of the above. Four Teen Vogue editors with different skin types and tones tried out the new blushers and shared their honest thoughts below.
Having dry skin but always chasing the “dewy” and “glowy” look, I tend to gravitate toward cream and liquid blushes–especially ones that won’t feel too heavy or mess my skin. So, I wasn’t too surprised by how much I liked Glow Recipe’s Brightening Serum Blush. Right off the bat, I noticed how nicely it melted into my skin, leaving a natural, radiant glow–the perfect “no-makeup makeup” blush. Most days, when I’m not wearing makeup, I mix a touch of both “Berry Flush” and “Watermelon Flush” over my moisturizer to bring some life back into my face. Even on nights out, the color still has enough “oomf” to complement a full face of makeup. Definitely my new go-to blush!
Glow Recipe has become a go-to for me and my dry skin. So, when I heard about the color options, I was super curious to see what the new product would be like. I was pretty shocked to see how similar it was to the original I’ve loved for many years now, and I fell in love with the berry shade too. Purple can be such a hit or miss, but when they’re done right, they can really accentuate brown eyes, hair and skin. It stands well on its own, but when mixed with the lighter shade — just a small dab applied to the center and blended out — it gives the look dimension and creates such a subtle but adorable blush. Depending on your preference and skin tone, you might need a few extra dabs as it is a sheer yet buildable product. It’s easy to apply with just a finger. I know a lot of brands say that about their products, but this time, I think it’s really true and you can feel good about rubbing this product into your skin too. It created such a picturesque finish and left me with soft-to-the-touch skin. I’ve been wearing it with my full face as per usual, but it also made me went to try it on its own, so I've started wearing just spot concealer and the blush. If you do a quick swipe of mascara and maybe a little eyeliner, it's a super cute everyday look.
I love glow recipe and use a few of their masks so I was interested to try out this new serum especially since it was tinted. Now I must admit when it comes to my routine, including face wash, toners, serums, and moisturizers, I’m very particular about those as my skin is very sensitive, but alas we gave it a try. The serum had a really fun applicator different than what I’m used to. It reminded me of a liquid blush which had me nervous at first. But once you press the product in its consistency is more like a non-sticky lip gloss when spread out. It also looks very pigmented when you dollop the product on, but it thins out immensely when you rub it in. If you’re looking to add a bit of blush or as they say, flush, to your skincare routine I think this product will work great for you. As a dark skin girlie though, for it to be super noticeable, I had to put a few layers on so definitely take that into account when trying to also use it for a little color on your cheeks. Serum-wise, the product was smooth and felt great on my skin. I definitely will keep trying it out in my daily routine.
I tried the Watermelon Flush which has a nice light pink tint. It’s quite light in terms of pigment which is okay for someone like me who does love a lot of blush — and it feels nice, like a little extra moisture when you need it. I have combination skin and my cheeks tend to be on the dry side, so it is nice to have an extra layer of moisturizing serum on that area of my skin.
