Leah Kateb is leaning into the early 2000s style by wearing a dress trend that's recently resurfaced. The Love Island USA season six star has spent her time outside of the villa building her own career, including in the perfume space.
Kateb hosted a special event on Thursday, July 10, in her native Los Angeles, celebrating the fragrance brand Skylar. The influencer was recently named the CEO and “re-founder” of the brand, which was originally founded in 2017. Joined by other guests, including Kateb's partner and Love Island partner, Miguel Harichi.
With the city as her backdrop, Kateb shone in a dress that's straight out of a 2010s nightclub. She wore a baby pink strapless bandage dress that clung down to her mid-thigh. She paired the dress with pink strappy heels that matched perfectly.
Kateb looked effortlessly sun-kissed wearing the dress, styling her long, dark hair into beachy waves. She kept her makeup rosy and glowy with ample blush and a darker nude lip.
The bandage dress has had its revival recently after being on a hiatus for over a decade. It first emerged in the 1980s by designer Azzedine Alaïa, who created the silhouette that clung tightly to the body and featured a wrapping fabric look. The style was made even more famous in the 1990s by designer Hervé Léger, and was eventually worn by every It girl in the early 2000s and 2010s. Lindsay Lohan, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, and more were known to rock the bandage dress.
Celebrities, including Hailey Bieber and Kaia Gerber, were spotted wearing bandage dresses, giving the style its confirmed revival. And it seems that Leah Kateb is also hopping on the trend.
Kateb is gearing up for the launch of the brand new Love Island spinoff series, Love Island: Beyond the Villa. The new show, which premieres on July 13, 2025, follows the season six favorites as they navigate their lives and careers in Los Angeles.
