Sabrina Carpenter brought the old Hollywood drama and style to her very first Grammys 2025 performance — tap dancing and all.
The “Espresso” hitmaker and first-time Grammy nominee took the stage for the 67th annual award ceremony on Sunday, February 2, 2025, with an elaborate — and funny — live performance. Carpenter started out in a sparkly tuxedo dress and gave an old-school theatrical entrance, pretending to accidentally drop a cane before singing a snippet of “Espresso” over a jazz piano.
Carpenter wasn't done there though — she then ripped the tuxedo dress off and proceeded to sing the song with the music behind her as dancers emerged. The musician revealed she was wearing a corseted leotard in baby blue underneath. The embellished outfit included a dramatic collar of jewels and diamonds as she danced around the stage. At one point, Carpenter started tap dancing in her Christian Louboutin heels.
Sabrina Carpenter went through a melody of her songs from last year's Short n' Sweet album including “Please Please Please” and “Taste.” Her album is up for several awards including Best Pop Vocal Album, which she won, and Album of the Year.
The singer walked the red carpet in a similar powder blue color and kept the Hollywood glamour theme alive with a low-back cheeky gown that featured a high knotted neck with a diamond draping around her shoulders and then down her back. The custom JW Anderson gown featured a galore of feathers around her hips and along the trim of her train.
Carpenter is also nominated in the categories of Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance (which she won), Song of the Year, and Record of the Year. Despite this being her sixth studio album, this is Carpenter's first time nominated in the prestigious award show.
The musician has been on a whirlwind of success over the last year after “Espresso” became an instant hit following its release. She's since toured with Taylor Swift during the Eras Tour and on her own Short n' Sweet tour, along with several festival appearances and more.
